Sciatica and Meds

I have Sciatica and lots of pain. Been working with orthopedic doctor and pain management. My spinal nerves are bad. I have early adulthood anxiety (chemical imbalance I was told at age 30). I am now 79.Have for many years been taking Xanax under my doctors care. Now my new internal medicine doctor PCP will not give it to me. When I take less than.50 each day the spinal nerves are in control. I do not know what to do. I have never abused this or any drugs. How do I ask doctors if they prescribe this?

    Are you in UK? Xanax is not available on an NHS prescription.......is this why it has been stopped by your PCP? Ask to be considered for a substitute drug.
