You are on the starting dose of 50mg a day. Usually the Doctor will monitor you and if the pain has not reduced will put the dose up until it does. 600mg daily is the maximum dose allowed. Before you carry on taking this drug please do some research on the side effects and withdrawals. This drug was originally produced as an anti-convulsant only but over time it was found to be helpful with nerve pain and is now used for this off label. It changes your Brain Chemistry by stopping the Pain Receptors reporting pain. Unfortunately for many patients it also causes Brain Fog, weight gain, memory loss, mood swings and many more side effects. You cannot just Stop taking this, you have to taper off slowly and carefully otherwise you are at risk of Seizures even if you have never had one before. The Central Nervous System quickly becomes reliant on Pregabalin and the withdrawals when tapering off can be extremely difficult. I know, I was on this for 3 years for a trapped Sciatic Nerve and it took me over 12 months to gradually reduce the dose until it was safe for me to stop. With hindsight I should have started to taper off as soon as the pain was relieved but I stayed on it for fear of the pain returning. I'm glad to say it didn't and I have been Pregabalin free since last October 2018. Research is the key so that you are able to make an informed choice on whether to continue taking it or not. I wish you well

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have indeed looked further into this and don't like what I am reading, therefore have stopped taking them [ I have only been taking them for the past couple of days}.
I will need to search out other ways to reduce my pain which seems to be getting worse.

I think you have done yourself a favour Roy, it is a very hard hitting drug and although it may help your pain to start with the future trying to get off Pregabalin could have been very difficult for you. I have been looking into a more natural route to help myself and after research and talking to others I found something called 'R' Alpha Lipoic Acid which primarily helps in the mending of aggravated or inflamed nerve endings, also helps maintain healthy Blood Sugar levels. The 'R' part is a more expensive version of the Alpha Lipoic Acid which you can find on Amazon, but I find both versions useful to keep my nerve pain at bay, depending on what I can afford. It may be worth you trying, although it does take a few weeks to get into and build up in the system.
I hope your pain levels improve soon, it can be a miserable life coping with chronic pain and I feel for you.

As I had only been taking them a couple of days, stopping caused no problem.
During those days my pain remained the same the tablete had no effect.
