Screwed up

So i had unprotected sex about 3months ago and had symptoms of everything! Finally got checked and it was all clear. Wonderful! Started sleeping with someone new things are going well.

One night i wasnt feeling 100% well (aches, cough, runny nose) but i didnt put it down to anything. Had sex with him - protected of course.

I come home and realise that i have a blister on my thigh. I go on google like crazy and basically confirm that the reason i had been sick the last couple months could be because of herpes and that i could have put this person at risk due to probably experiencing and outbreak while sleeping with him.

I told him that i think he should get checked out and that i was going to too. I'm very scared about him catching it because of my ignorance and stupidity.

The other thing is we belong to the same club. I will have to continue seeing him. And i dont know how I'll face him. The guilt is literally eating me alive and i am unable to focus on anything. Please give me some advice....

I wouldn't panic until if and when it's confirmed. It doesn't sound like a clear-cut case of herpes. A blister on the thigh is not so typical of a new or recent infection. Since you are so worried, I hope you got it swabbed, because that's the most accurate test for herpes, but it has to be done while the blister is fairly new.

The blister coincided with me feeling sick. I have swapped it but wont be able to get to a clinic till Monday so I'm keeping it in a box until then.

How do i deal with the possibility of me giving it to him that is what is really making me upset. And also how do i continue to face him?

That's the part you need to put aside until you know what it is. You're jumping the gun, possibly without reason. You said after your unprotected encounter you had symptoms of everything. What exactly did you experience? Were you swabbed for herpes then? First outbreaks mostly occur soon after infection and herpes lesions typically occur where the virus entered your body, which is why your thigh seems unlikely. Over time (and I mean years), lesions may migrate to other parts, however.

My vagina was itchy a few days after the first encounter and i felt sick i guess from that i should have concluded that it was herpes. With this blister i felt sick again and my vagina was itchy but not with the same intensity i passed it off as a yeast infection and me just coming down with something as I'd been sick multiple times these past months. The only time i full assessed the situation was after the fact. And now i feel like the worst human on the planet .

Herpes wouldn't cause you to get sick multiple times, and your other symptoms are pretty general, so I wouldn't automatically suspect herpes. Hopefully the test will provide clarity, although I don't know what a clinic will make of a self-swabbed specimen or how accurate that would be.

If you don't have herpes, then no. Even if you do have it, but you didn't know, then still no. The "worst person ever" is one who strongly suspects or knows they have it, takes no precautions, and transmits it intentionally, etc.

Usually itching and/or tingling just before a recurrence, swelling, soreness, and a small lesion or two, which may or may not be obvious.
