Scrotum hurts

I was just wondering I went to the urologist because my balls were hurting they said it was because I wasn't getting rid of all my urine they put me on Flomax but my balls still hurt sometimes and sometimes they're better is anybody else had this problem also I never realized that I wasn't getting rid of all my urine I thought my pee flow was fine I was only getting up once at night to pee. From the first day he's been trying to get me to do a urolift i'm still not have a trouble paying but they seem to think that's the problem need a second opinion I guess

Don't take that nonsense. Tell people here where you are located and see if someone will PM you with a specialist they trust. Get a second opinion.

I agree with Stewart. The Urolift is a great procedure for some men, but it sounds like you have a different, unrelated problem. He may as well remove your tonsils. Get a second opinion!

I get infections due to insufficient voiding, but can't say I've noticed testicular aches or pains and have never read or been told that they are any indication of incomplete voiding!

When flow slowed during infection epidoses, I learned to self-catheterise intermittently (here in UK the local NHS Urology nurse showed me how and provided a box of single-use catheters) I only used them occasionally, but a bonus was that I was able to measure the residue left after urinating, (60 - 120 cc in my case) which has been a useful guide. I've also had an ultrasound scan, which confirms Prostate Enlargement. These scans are quick and easy with immediate result - I presume these are available in the US? We don't have free Urolift in my NHS area so am going to have TURP soon, which may be an advantage for collecting tissue for biopsy, since I'm also diagnosed and being monitored with cancer (not spreading yet).

I had an extreme urine retention problem, and it never gave me any kind of pain in my scrotum.  I, like you, live in North Carolina (Wilmington), and went to a urologist who put me on Rapaflo and booked me for a TURP procedure.  After reading about Rapaflo, I never even opened the pill bottle.  After reading about the TURP, on this blog, I decided I'd rather get waterboarded than have that procedure.

I tried many different natural cures, and finally found a combination of things that worked.  Before I found the cure, my retention had been so severe, that I would wake up six to eight times a night to uninate, but couldn't pass a drop until the next morning. Today I sleep seven hours without getting up even once.

You don't have anything remotely like the urine retention problem I had..  Remember, these urologists make their money by cutting whomever they can.  Be careful.

Rich, could you share with us what combination of things you found that worked?

      Hi Rich

I also would be very interested to know what natural  cures work for you.

I have BPH and have had Acure retention twice! I know have it under control with SNRE (stinging nettle root extract) and Saw Palmetto.

I am due for PAE early next year under a trial in the UK.

      regards

Jessaman, I had actually booked a PAE procedure at the University of North Carolina medical center.  I cancelled a week before going in.

I tried Saw Palmetto for months.  It didn't help.  I tried stinging nettle and beta sitosterol at the same time.  One of them, or a combination of both, gave me hives so severe, that I thought I had shingles.

I changed me lifestyle and dropped 25 lbs (20 in less than seven weeks),  and exercise at least two hours a week, but that, on its own, didn't cure me.  Finally, after trying zinc, D-3, giving up coffee and alcohol, not eating and drinking after 6pm, I actually found something that worked.  Mint leaves.  I cold brew it as tea, using a combination of pepperment leaves and spearmint leaves.  I drink it all day and now I can unrinate before going to bed.  The retention problem and the pain at the base of my penis are gone.

Mint is an anti-androgen, and I can only assueme that it's mitigating my BPH problem. So, after many months of sleepless nights, and feeling depressed all day, I now have my life back. So far, so good.

Softgel caps containing SNRE 300mg + Saw Palmetto Extract 160mg + Pumpkin Seed Oil 1g (1000 mg) + Lycopene Natural Tomato Extract 3 mg worked for me.  However, if you are passing kidney stones this won't help remove the stinging as they scrape their way through.

      Cheers,

      Stewart

My bladder doesn't empty completely taking flomax, I am having turp in Jan. I have very little pain in my balls.  I think if I was you I would get a second opinion before the urolift.

Don't. rush into any procedure There could be many reasons. Your balls have nothing to do with your urine Glad you did not start on flomax it's suppose to help you pee better but it also give you dry orgasms. Have you hit yourself there or do you ride a bike. If you don't have a infection your getting ride of the urine. I have a stricture and some of the urine backs up in the bladder. That causes a infection. Take something for the pain and don't do anything until you stop or slow urine flow. This may be a little personnel how offen to you get off? You may have a build up of sperm. Just to be safe I would see another urologist. Ken

I did not hit myself i am on flowmax can't stand taking it been on it for a year but I never noticed that I was having a problem peeing before or now .i do have dry orgasms and have sex three times a week on average

If you can get fid of the flomax do. That would stop the dry orgasms. I did not like them either. That is when I had the pain in the bladder and groin See another urologist try celis 20mg it will work the same but no dry orgasm. Take care Ken

Flomax is popular with urologists because pharmaceutical  reps bring them them samples to give to their patients. It was given to me many years ago and it it stopped my breathing. Since then other urologists have tried to to push it on me.

All I can say after 1 and 1/2 years of scrotum pain...is that it took multiple urologists to finally have one determine my pain was coming from seminal cord in scrotum. ...you may have infection or prostatitis can cause scrotum pain.try finding a Urologist who gives a darn..they should have taking ultrasound to rule out more serious issues already. Good luck
