I haven't been really paying attention but recently I noticed that besides the red vein like things in my scrotum there have been some darker ones popping up. Should I go to a doctor or is it fine/normal?

It isn't normal. It sounds like you have varicoceles which display the so-called "bag of worms" on the outside of the testicles. You should request a scrotal ultrasound with color Doppler which will confirm this. If they don't bother you or hurt then it is best to leave them alone but if they do hurt you there are several ways to deal with them. Good luck.
