SCS Implant feedback

Hi. I'm hoping to get feed back of as many experiences from those with spinal cord stems. I'm planning on doing the trial in fall 2016. I'm nervous but anxious for relief.
Personal experience, brand of implant and do you feel it is successful. I would be most grateful for any responses. Thanks in advance.
Take care~

It depends on what one you are getting and your level of pain everyone is different I had the Nevro stimulator and it made things worse for me, so I decided to turn it off my pain level is still high but that was making it worse.
Good luck with your trial.
I hope it works for you.
Take care let us know how it does

Amy966,
When I first had it implanted the battery was protruding out of my back so they did a revision surgery so now it's in my abdomen but the dr said this wasn't the right one for me but the rep talked him into putting it back on, it was supposed to be a revision but down the road get the St Jude's one, he called that one a failed SCS (Nevro) but I was lied to and they turned it back on I was so upset, he just wanted in do I wouldn't get scar tissue for the st. Jude's.
So I hope you find relief
Please keep me informed on how you are doing.
Best of luck
Cynthia (Cindy)

amy966,
it's good to have more knowkedge about your future surgery that you having. Every body works differently and I am not export to give any advice in this matter but from my own experience I only say is that tell your doctor/surgeon to do ALLERGY TEST.
Especially METAL TEST. In my case I am still gets HIVES and ITCHING all over my body and it's more than month but NO HELP.
I am writing all these so no one have to go through just like I am going through right now.
Amy, don't be scared maybe you have good doctor/surgeon who take care of you and listen to you and concerned about your health.
Wish you all the best for your futuer SCS surgery.

I've had the permanent Nevro in for a little over 2 weeks. I had unsuccessful back surgery and was in a great deal of pain. I had resigned myself to another back surgery (what the original surgeon said I needed) but decided to get a second opinion so went to a Neurosurgeon at Mayo. He suggested the Nevro Stimulator. It's not perfect but I'm in a lot less pain then I was experiencing before the Nervo was implanted. They do a test with it for several days to see if it would be successful. They stress, during the test, you have to be very careful because the wires are just taped and can easily be pulled out. Nevro says if it decreases your pain by 50% it's considered successful. It decreased my pain 50-70%. I would really recommend this to anyone. Good luck!

Hi Marie. I'm happy to hear your feeling better and your pain level has decreased.
My trial should be sometime around November. So fingers crossed. Nervous about the trial/procedure it's self but I can do it if there's a chance I could achieve similar results...I'd be thrilled!
Thanks for your input!
Be well~
