Sea Salt

Hanny mentioned sea salt for Lichen sclerosis. I thought this would have a drying effect on the vagina? Were you talking about sea salt baths? Has anyone any thoughts on this?

Sea salt baths indeed.  Tried it this morning again.  Thought is - I grew up along the sea, sea air, salty air and never knew of an infection.  Worth a try.  This far it seems to be a good alternating with the baking soda baths.

Hi Hanny. I also grew up by the sea but now live in the country. Prefer the sea! How do you buy the sea salt in a drum? amd how much do you put in the bath?

I bought this locally.  (This lady makes soap and such and had this bag with sea salt, mixed with some beneficial herbs in it.)  With it came a cotton pouch with string.  I fill that with approximately one third to half a cup, tie the string and put it in the bath like a teabag. Of course the salt part disappears quickly, leaving the herbs behind.  But I think that any grocery sells sea salt.

And remember - it's just a try and a thought.  I do this so now and then, next to baking soda baths (one third of a cup)  I know that the baking soda has been beneficial.  I'm living proof, so to speak.  But LS likes variety.  Therefore.

Definitely not drying. A professor told me to have one every day which I did until we moved and now we don't have a bath. So following suggestion from this site I use the bi carb instead. Once you look into it the healing properties of salt go back centuries.

My doctor told me to have a salt bath for 15-20 mins before applying my sterioid. I never asked him why but didn't hesitate as I love baths and thought they'd be a no no with LS.
