This is very rare but yes it can happen. Mostly i've heard of the DM ringing the claiment to ask unanswered questions. Good luck though!

    Hi,

I suppose it's possible but be aware at all times and think before answering just in case they unwittingly ask a question that upsets you or catches you unaware.

They may need to clarify before awarding you, so good luck.

    Mike.

When I claimed Attendance Allowance this summer I was assured that it would be most unlikely that any face to face assessment would be needed. unfortunately I received the usual letter telling me that someone would be calling to carry one out!

?Again after speaking to the DWP they assured me that it is quite normal and nothing to worry about.

?To my surprise on the day, two guys turned up. The older of the two sat me down on a chair in the dining room whilst he sat opposite. The younger one stood up for the whole time (over a hour) walking around the ground floor (lounge, dining room and kitchen).

?So I went from not expecting to being re-assured to feeling like a criminal.

?Suffice it to say the DWP decided that I didn;t have the requisite needs. Umm - I had been on DLA - High Mobility & Middle Care for the previous 21 years up until a few months before the Attendance Allowance interrogation.

So yes beware not everything will be as it seems at the start - the DWP seem to have a habit of telling porkies.

Had the home assement today and it went well was a few different questions but my son answered honestly. He was asked to stay in during assement and that I could answer all the questions, my son managed to answer several of them and he was very nervous but felt better for answering for himself, lady wished he good luck and waiting can ring in a couple of weeks to see how things going . His dla finishes up at end of month so I'm hoping it gets sorted before then if not it will end and no money😬 Until decisions made
