Second breakout or still the first?

Hello me again, just after abit more advice. Diagnosed a week ago hsv2, had first symptoms of gh 4 weeks ago. To begin with was awful, the nurse told it was a bad first breakout and the pain was terrible. That was 4 weeks ago and I'm still not fully recovered but feeling better than I was. Still been having some itching feelings and soreness down there from the previous sores. Now this morning I've woken up with 4 brand new sores in a totally different area of my lady parts. Do I class this as a new out break and start the aclivor again? They aren't too painful yet......though I think that's cos they are not in a place where it's going to hurt as much. They are full of fluid, sorry too much information I know but just sort of hoping these will clear up quicker. All I'm using is my amazing tea tree oil at the moment x

Could be another outbreak, I'm afraid. Usually, the first outbreak will come with a second crop of lesions a few days after the initial lesions, but not a month later. You might want to consider the meds again for 3-5 days, starting now.

Thank you, thought that was the case. Least I don't feel as bad as I did this time. It's manageable so far. Thanks for all the advice you have given me :-)

Happy to help. smile That really sucks you're having another outbreak, though. Was hoping you were over it. If you start the meds asap, at least that might help it clear up a lot faster. Where did your lesions appear this time?

My recurrence is slowly healing, but it's the worst single lesion I've had so far (long and has nasty pus, ugh) and I reckon it will take another week to fully heal, bringing it up to two weeks, which will also make it my longest recurrence. Not on meds, as I kinda forgot, lol, and it's too late now, so I'm only using tea tree oil, too.

Well thank you for both inputs - I already take lysine now though I understand it's not guaranteed to help. I'm also going to try lemon balm. Not sure where you are both from but I'm in the uk and I've just read this to be recommended on our main health/hospital based website - the NHS.

I'll try anything that could help wether it's been scientifically proven or not. Anything to stop this pain and discomfort is worth trying

Jennifer I suffered really bad at first with outbreak after outbreak which also caused other problems. The doctors at the gum finally put me on suppression dosage of Aciclovir one 400 mg pill (available on the NHS) twice a day and I haven't had a noticeable outbreak since December, infact if I didn't take this pill every 12 hours I could quite easily forget I have it.

Thank you for your reply :-) I'm gonna go back to the gum clinic this week hopefully as rang my gp for some more aciclovir and even though he prescribed some, he told me they would be pretty much a waste of time. I told him he was wrong and I've spoken to several other professionals about taking them daily. Your story so very encouraging for me thank you :-)

Can I just ask if this is all you take? Have you tried anything like lysine or olive leaf extract?

Yes that's all I take at first they said they wouldn't put me on them so told the doctor I would just get from some dodgy site online

Yes I've bought some so will see what the results are. Last night I soaked some tea bags on some kitchen tissue and that was brilliant for soothing, I slept with it between my legs haha
