Citalopram can definitely produce a wide range of weird side effects, and everyone is so different. Weakness, nausea, dizziness, and stomach aches are all very normal. The muscle pain I'm not super sure. I did have frequent muscle twitching when I first started, so it seems it does interact with your muscles somehow. I wouldn't worry too much, these side effects should lessen each week 😃 Of course, call your doctor if something very alarming comes up.

I understand. Those first few doses are the worst. I remember it feeling to scary to take another, knowing the side effects were going to be brutal. Ultimately it's up to you if you think it's worth it. Maybe tell yourself you'll keep taking it another week, and reassess if you are still feeling terrible. Hopefully the side effects will have subsided a bit by then and you'll be encouraged to keep going. You've got this!
