Freaking out a bit inside. Going for a 2nd hemorrhoidectomy surgery Monday.
it's only 1 this time instead of 3 and maybe a couple skin tags but shaken up a bit.
Even though I've been through this just 6 months ago and want to share some advice or kind words please do so.

I am sure your prior experience will make it easier to deal with the recovery this time around. the couple of unpleasant weeks are definitely well worth it in the long run. you probably also already have your pain meds planned.. if not. i absolutely swear by meloxicam (it has various brand names). it is an anti-inflammatory drug i found super effective. it didnt cause constipation and reduced the need for heavy duty narcotics. Best of luck..hope all goes well for you 😃

hi i am scheduled to have my second hemorrhoidectomy in 2 weeks and i'm so nervous because of how wrong it went the first time. my anxiety is through the roof about it all.
hope i can ask you a few questions!
how are you recovering? how did the surgeon remove your hemorrhoids in the first and second surgery? my first surgery the surgeon cut them and stitched 2 of them (i had 3 skin tags left from hems. the ones he stitched just came back bigger and it looks so much worse off now than it ever did before, then the one he just cut left a fissure which has now left me with another skin tag. ive never regretted anything more snd if i could go back in tjme i would never have had this surgery done. i had no idea that i could ever be worse off. im 23 years old and ive not had sex properly with my boyfriend since the surgery in march 2019. hoping that this second surgery will give me my confidence and my life back very soon 😦
does it look like your tags have gone? do you have any anal incontinence?
hope you are recovering well!

Hello Carrington
Here is some insight on my second round
I was super neverous going in this time thinking I know what to expect and how to cope along the way and truthfully what I knew and experienced the first time kinda gave me some insight but this was different. I experienced different pain the first surgery he removed 3 grade 4 hemorrhoids
that was complicated recovery, I ended up in Emergancy department day 10 without having a bowl movement and got an infection, high fever.
The second time around no matter how much you prepare yourself never works out in your favor.
I had 1 final hemorrhoid removed it was a grade 4 closest to my vagina and the recovery has been hard, I got 2 stitches and I literally feel everything you would think with only having one hemorrhoid removed that the pain wouldnt be that bad compared to the first surgery of having 3 removed, take stool softener before your surgery, get yourself to have a BM before hand, and change your diet at least 2 days before
for me I have a high tolerance for pain so my first surgery hardly took any pain medication but this time I literally took pain medication every chance I could literally felt like my butt was about to fall off and something ginormous was going to come out of my bum a lot of pain in my lower rectum area into my legs and literally my best friend was a hot water bottle.
I'm coming up to my 1 week mark, and I'm slowly putting myself back onto a normal diet, I'm having small bowel movements but at least its occurring which is a good sign, I got a rash but because I wore breifs and pads. My last piece of my stitching came out this morning hooray now it can officially heal and get itchy lol
but realistically you don't need to stress yourself up cuz you got this and Recovery is only as bad as you let it become if you think more into it then the recovery is going to be longer if you think positive just let things happen the way they are going to happen then you'll be okay don't rush yourself don't push yourself too hard to get back to normal like I did yesterday but heal.
I'm sure you have a really good support system to help you and you're going to need it and I'm always here if you have any questions or you're worried about something I just remember to take a deep breath and remember YOU GOT THIS
