Seeking Help and Advice: Brother's Cardiac Arrest Resulted in Memory Loss, Vomiting, and Weight Loss

Hello everyone,

I hope this post finds you all well. I am writing today with a heavy heart and a deep concern for my brother's health. Approximately seven months ago, my brother suffered a cardiac arrest that led to brain damage and subsequent memory loss. Ever since that incident, he has been experiencing several distressing symptoms, and despite numerous medical tests, we have yet to find a solution.

One of the most troubling issues he faces is severe vomiting and nausea. It has been a constant struggle for him, and it significantly affects his quality of life. In addition to that, he has experienced a significant weight loss of three stone (42 pounds). To provide some context, he was originally 10 and a half stone (147 pounds) before the cardiac arrest, and he has now reached a weight of only 7 and a half stone (105 pounds).

We have consulted with doctors, who have conducted an array of tests to identify the cause of these symptoms. However, despite their efforts, no concrete answers or effective treatments have been found thus far. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly challenging and frustrating journey for our family.

With all this in mind, I am reaching out to this forum in the hopes of finding support, guidance, or even someone who has experienced similar symptoms or knows someone who has. If any of you have come across cases involving cardiac arrest survivors who have experienced memory loss, vomiting, and weight loss, I would be extremely grateful to hear about your experiences.

Perhaps there are alternative treatments, specialists, or even coping mechanisms that have proven helpful in such situations. Any advice, suggestions, or simply words of encouragement would be immensely appreciated.

I understand that everyone's circumstances are unique, and I do not expect a magic solution. However, by sharing our stories and pooling our knowledge, we may be able to shed some light on this perplexing situation and explore avenues we may not have considered yet.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Please feel free to share any information or insights you may have. Your support means the world to me and my family.

Wishing you all the very best.

Sincerely,

Jimmy
