Seeking help for a large bump/lump in groin area

Posted , 2 users are following.

A couple of days ago, I noticed a large bump/lump near my groin area. At first, I thought it was a massive spider bite, but now believe it is more likely some kind of cyst. It is a little smaller than a quarter. It isn't hard- sort of jelly-like. It has become increasingly painful over the last 2 days, possibly from biking. It can't be an STD because I've never had sex or sexual contact that could lead to an STD.

What should I do?

It probably is an infection like a boil. Maybe at the base of a hair follicle. Bikers often get them. You can wait for it to form a head and then discharge naturally, or see your doctor who may give you antibiotics if its very big.

Try sitting in a warm bath. Please dont squeeze...you will spread the underlying infection and others will appear.

If it doesnt disperse or others appear, then please see your doctor for advice.
