Seeking Solutions: Coping with Intimacy Challenges at 33

Posted , 5 users are following.

At the age of 33, I am facing difficulties in achieving and maintaining an erection. The symptoms I am experiencing include a low libido, delayed erections, and challenges in maintaining rigidity, both alone and with a partner. Although initial suggestions point to a psychological origin due to my age, I am convinced there might be an underlying physical issue.

In an effort to understand and address my concerns, I have decided to seek a referral to a urologist, a step I consider reasonable given the nature of my symptoms. Simultaneously, I am contemplating exploring a sexual health clinic to gather information about the services they offer. I hope they can provide support and advice tailored to my needs. Their expertise could complement that of a urologist, offering a more comprehensive approach to resolving these sensitive issues.

Faced with this situation, I feel a pressing need for help. How can I get through this and overcome these difficulties that have a significant impact on my life?

It may just be a psychological issue. Your GP will probably prescribe you viagra or similar. Hopefully that would be sufficient to get you over this and reassure you that everything is working.

My situation is rather different. I've lost feeling in penis following a shingles rash on my back, which is suspected to be related.

Medication is working for me, function wise, but I am still quite distressed as I am not feeling anything.

Has your primary care doc discussed the possibility of Low Testosterone? I had an issue when I first started dating my (now) wife several years ago. Same issues as described above; low libido, initial erections that quickly faded when we started having sex, and difficulty climaxing. After several months of this, I went and saw an endocrinologist who informed me that my testosterone levels were bottomed out. After upping my Testosterone dose, problem was resolved for the most part. I say "for the most part" because, at that point, there was certainly some anxiety issues centered around losing the erection again. In time, that went away as well. Something worth looking into...
