Sensitive skin

Hi all. I am new to this group and I have been getting some strange sensations on different parts of my body. At first it was the burning feeling on the back of my legs and bottom. Now I have it down one side of my face. It feels like my face is on fire, as it did when it effected my legs, almost feels like a have got really bad sunburn. My doctor prescribes me with amytriptaline and pregabalin.

Does this sound like fibromyalgia?

Cheers. Jules

Hi Jules, you'll find through this site that a lot of everyone's symptoms of pain are different. Mine is the sore back, neck, shoulders and now the elbows, brain fog, lack of sleep, lack of concentration, and depression. The meds you have been prescribed were prescribed to me, I'm still on the amytriptoline (however that is spelt) for my sleep, and the pregabalin did nothing to curb my pain. I've recently seen a rheumatologist referred by gp,and I was disappointed with visit, will refer back to physio. I have started having acupuncture again and getting a little relief. I'd say don't let gp fob you off, I wish I had a better one

Hi Oompa. Thanks for the reply and sorry to hear you have so much pain. These pains I am getting now seem to have got worse after I had my hip replaced in October. My doctor is sending me for an MRI on my back as he is trying to rule out sciatica or disc problems but I don't see how sciatica would affect my face. I also have short term memory loss and have a really hard time tying to sleep.

Hi Julie, hope you find some relief soon. I'm trying acupuncture again, but this time seeing someone who has more experience. Getting there slowly.
