SEPSIS INFECTION

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had a cystoscopy procedure at the hospital and when I arrived home I became very ill and had a high temperature and vomiting. About two hours later I was taken back to the hospital by ambulance with an oxygen mask over my face. On examination, it was discovered that I had picked up a sepsis infection. A doctor apologised for what had happened. I was sure that I had picked up this infection from the cystoscopy procedure? Thank you.

I didn't know that symptoms of sepsis happened so quickly. Did something go wrong during the procedure?, or were you just really unlucky?  I hope the hospital took good care of you and that you have fully recovered from a very worrying experience. Take care of yourself..

Thanks Lynn for your concern. I'm not sure what went wrong during the procedure. I had never felt as sick in my life. Not sure either if I have fully recovered as the ambulance personnel said that If I had gone to bed in this condition he could not be sure of what might happen. He said the infection was in my blood and it had spread to all parts of my body. I'm having a problem trying to sleep as I fear I might not wake up. My doctor has prescribed medication so I'm hoping this might work in time.
