Seretide 100

Hi again people hope your all doing well!

I had my full lung funtion test last month and I was given another appointment for a week later to see the chest specialist, but I missed the appointment šŸ˜šŸ˜

I managed to rearrange for the 6th of January but I did speak to my doctor yesterday to see if he had seen my results and he said he had.

It seems like I have problems with the smaller airways in the lungs which the chest specialist will talk to me about next month but my doctor has put me seretide 100 and told me to keep using my blue inhaler,is anyone using seretide 100 at the moment or used it in the past? Is it a good one that works ?

Any feedback would be much appreciatedĀ

Take care Gaz

Hi, I've been on Seratide 200 for about 6 years after starting on 100 . The dose for either is one in the morning and one and one at night,it's a long acting inhaler ,not one to use at any time, use your blue inhaler as and when you need to ,it contains a very small amount of a steroid ,and acts a air way opening later longing than your blue one, sera tide is a preventive inhaler,I have found it easier to use the accuhalers ,rather than the basic inhalers,,,I was also referred to a COPD REHAB COURSE, light fitness and excersise, this has helped me soooooo much, before doing regular exersise I did very little walking ,and the thought of going to the gym ,,,,,well it was beyond me, now after attending the rehab class, ( don't worry it's not alcoholics or anything like that ) it's for people like us with breathing problems, I attend the gym twice a week and have reached ( when well. ) 3 Killometers on the bike ,2 kilometer on the tread mill ,and 1000 meters on the rower, the idea is to open the air ways to get more oxygen into your lungs, I think you will find that you will be ok on sera tide ,but of course discuss with your consultant ,and if you are ever invited to Ā go to see the COPD team, I can highly recommend them, they are specialist nurses in this field, and I firmly believe that without them ,,,,I would not be here now sharing this imformation ,I am 69 and have been under their care since 2008 and I feel better now than I did then, good luck, hope this is of some help, merry Christmas,Ā

ā€‹=12.0ptSeretide is a medicine which is used in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Seretide contains Fluticasone/Salmeterol. Fluticasone in steroid is used to help reduces inflammation. Salmeterol helps relax their air passage in the lungs. Both ingredients in seretide work together to help keep airways open and make it easier to breathe. Use seretide every day for better effectiveness. Even your situation is under control, you should continue use seretide. You should make using it at a regular time as a part of your daily routine. It would be great if you use it at the same time or times every day. Very rarely the person taking medicine may feel anxious, have disturbed sleep or notice an increased irritability. =12.0ptĀ =12.0ptĀ
