Serialise and depression

i was diagnosed with depression about 2 months ag. I started off with 100 mgs Sertaline which was increased 4 weeks ago to 150 mgs 4 weeks ago. Still feel so depressed, tearful, useless etc. I hate feeling this way. Just want to know if anyone is taking a higher dosage than this and is it working. Thanks.

Sorry that should have been headed Sertaline.

I went up to 200mg 25 days ago and I still have that knotted feeling in my upper stomach. I've read that low mood and lack of motivation are last to go. It's infuriating, but I'm not patient either

Please stick with it Julie. It can take a few weeks for the medication to properly kick in.

Meantime, get lots of exercise (even if it's the last thing you feel like doing) eat well and get out with friends. It's crucial you keep doing what you used to enjoy. One day, the colour will return, I promise.

Let me know how you get on smile

I'm hoping the increase in dose in going to work for me....had dreadful year! On day 25, the only symptom left is that knot in the upper abdomen....so frustrating. How long do you mean by "a few weeks" for mess to kick in? Thanks

      I meant meds

Whenever you change dose, up or down, it takes a few weeks for the brain to adjust the level of medication. Think of it like a see-saw, trying to get the right balance x

Yes it's early days (25) for the meds to kick in. I'm not used to being laid low, though last week I started gardening. Sleeping fine, appetite gets better throughout the day. Just that rotten feeling in diaphragm. Don't know if it's anxiety or low mood. It robs motivation but then I push myself
