Seroma build up and discomfort and pain

Hi everyone pray that everyone is doing exceptionally well,

I gave birth via emergency csetion, since I had 80 percent Placenta abruption and baby was drinking blood. Both are fine. However 3 months into recovery my csetion opened and become a 12 cm hernia, which I got redone by a general surgeon. He didn't put in a Mesh as he said the area was inflamated and could become septic if he put a Mesh in. Anyway, i was on bed rest for 2 and half months, couldn't pick up my son and my mom. God bless her soul, was too good to me. Now it's been four months since hernia surgery, I have developed seroma, which is tender and painful. My doctor said to come after another 6 months, I'm scared that it might hinder my healing, Ive never had any scans or x rays done. So I don t know what's going on down there. I'm also tender and usually sore, by the end of the day. I'm doing my regular daily routine and stuff but still phobic to pick my son, still sleeping on my back. Not sure if I should go for scans, please advice guys.
