Had EUS and biopsy taken when i had one cyst. Know have 3 cysts and told benign. Symptoms getting worse.Specialist wants to leave cysts alone as benign but symptoms difficult to manage. In next 6 months having EUS more biopsys taken, endoscopy, CT scan then review again. Has anyone had these type cysts and what mangement plan, has anyone had surgery for theirs? thoughts welcomed.

    Hi Cathy

Sorry to hear of your continuing issues with cysts. I don't have that problem myself  I have chronic pancreatitis and I do know a little about pancreas diseases. Have they checked you out for an heridiary disease that can cause your problem?

      Hi Cathy

It's with you saying that you keep getting the cysts I thought I would try and find any info and the following rare disease came up Von Hippel-Lindau Syndrome, I know nothing about it but it might be worth you following up.

I had half of my pancreas removed in 2007 at Liverpool  and although I take a long list of medications I'm not doing to bad thanks.

Sounds like pancreatitis. Are your cysts fluid filled?  I have pancreatic cysts that contain pancreatic enzymes. They are draining on their own.  I sometimes have pain that is controllable and sometimes IV pain killers in large doses with short intervals of dosing do nothing to control the pain.

Hi .Ive had EUS and biopsy taken from one cyst found to be benign serous adrenoma, full of serous fluid and non communicationg with pancreas.Im not sure where the fluid comes from, think the cysts produces its own fluid?? everyone telling me i have IBS and so i take Mebeverine, buscopan, ant sickness, pain kilklers. But little success with all this. Im finding it harder and harder to eat normal diet. fat, acid, spicy food amd alcohol make me bad. I have never drunck much perhaps two glasses wine at a weekend but tee total as pain is terrific after alcohol. My blotting is huge and althou i have actually lost a few pounds have to buy clothes 1-2 sizes bigger on tummy to accomodate.Should know a bit more after i have more biopsys, scan, endoscopy.

The worst thing that you can do if you have pancreas problems, regardless of the cause, is drink alcohol. The second worse thing is smoking.

      hi

never smoked and only ever been a very light one or two glasses a week wine drinker. When you had pancreas partly removed did it stop your symptoms? did you have spleen, bowel or gallbladder removed as well? do you need enzmes to help you digest food? hope you dont mind me asking questions.

My Dr. did the same.  After 60 days, my cysts have shrunk 40%.  They are filled with pancreatic enzymes and will reabsorb in time.

      Hi

my cysts are full serous fluid and not pancreatic enzmes,so im told. dont think they will reabsorb. Consultant wants to leave them alone as benign, but i cant help thinking all this pancreas pain and symptoms are coming from them. Not sure what i should think, or do. Seems very little info on them.If its cancer immediate surgery is recomended but a benign growth the Dr would rather leave alone. So i was hoping to find other folk who have serous cysts in pancreas or folk who have had them out and find out how life is after operation etc.
