sertaline and insomnia

Have been on 50mg sertaline for over 3yrs now, unfortunately in the past month the depression and anxiety has came back.i went to see gp who put my sertaline up to 100mg 2 weeks ago, the only major side effect I have noticed is the inability to sleep properly.i remember it only lasting couple of days on the 50mg, been 2 weeks on 100mg and still no sleep, feeling a bit manic.

Anyone else have this issue? Thanks x

Hi, I've been on 100mg for a month now and I'm still having problems sleeping. I spoke to my GP about Some thing to help me sleep and she gave me 7 sleeping tablets to try and get my sleeping pattern back in sync. I tried Zopiclone 3.75mg as a short term fix. I have to say it really did not work for me, falling asleep initially bit then waking up drowsy needing to raid the fridge! She did mention changing my Sertraline to Mertz as it helps you relax at night and is an antidepressant. I was once put on them a while back but tbh it had the same effect as the Zopiclone and made me just want to eat more .... I hope you find something as I really do understand how sleeplessness brings you down. Polly x
