Sertaline . In pregnancy . With alcohol

I've been on sertaline just over 6 weeks now , for bad anxiety / panic attacks .

On a good note I had no bad side effects starting it & without a doubt it has calmed down any panic attacks and dulled the anxious feelings I had every day . I feel around my period time I used to get worse so am waiting to see if it helps that. If anyone has any doubts about trying it for panic attacks , I'd recommend it.

My real questions (now that I can think more clear about socialising again & the future again) are can you drink alcohol while taking these? Moderate consumption? And my future worry is if I keep taking them long term , what happens if I want to get pregnant in the future? Can

You take them during pregnancy or preparing for pregnancy?

It could be part of my anxiety worrying about these things ..,

Anyone taken these during pregnancy or any words of wisdom??!

Ur post has given me hope im starting mine tomorrow! When did u first notice them starting to kick in?? Ive used them yrs ago and drank on them i only drink a few times a yr but when i do go out im like the bad moms film i drink shots and mainly alco pops but end up hammered with no ill effects so the drinking os fine obvs i dont recommend getting hammered like i did but drinking is fine just take it easy to start wi alcohol might affect u more. As for the pregnancy im pretty sure u'll b ok on sertraline but discuss with ur doc coz if sertraline isnt ok there are others that are i know citalopram is.

Thanks Weenett , probably noticed a difference within 2 weeks , a lot calmer within myself . although also have Xanax if I feel a wave of anxiety coming on too .. Just hate having to rely on them but as was said to me ... Get yourself calmer and more clear headed with the tabs first then work on sorting things out after . It's not that I plan on pregnancy anytime soon but it bothers me that I may need to be on these long term & theyre effect on pregnancy etc. You should Def give them another go but would avoid alcohol for a couple of weeks , let your body recover .
