Sertraline.

Hi Melissa - I have now been on Sertraline 50mg, then 100mg and now 150mg for the past 14 months and have encountered all the problems incurred by other postings.  I take mine in the morning before breakfast.  I have found that lying on a large bath sheet and with a light tog duvet over me, plus wearing very thin pyjamas has helped me considerably and I do not sweat nearly as much as I used to.  I do sleep very well and take a 50mg Nytol 20 minutes before retiring.  Give it a try.  You never know it may help after a little while.  The dreams don't worry me at all and I cannot remember them for long after waking up.  My latest experiment is I have purchased a single Flat Tencel Waterproof Mattress Protector to lay on and it Wicks moisture through the night.  They can be washed in a washing machine.  So far it has proved to be successful to me in helping the sweating.  I purchased mine from hippchick.com.  I have been told that I will be on Sertraline for at least 2 years so anything that works is worth a try.  PS. I am classed as a "Devil Dodger" and was only prescribed them at age 75.  Best wishes - Mike B.

I still don’t feel like myself and still can’t sleep without sleeping tablets. Do u think it’s still early days yet for me? And will I ever get back feeling like myself again 🌹

Hi Debra & Balogh - Initially on 21 Nov'16 I was prescribed 50mg and it took about 4 weeks to kick in. 2 months later it was upped to 100mg and finally on 17 Mar'17 upped again to 150mg, which I am still on.  I was informed that I would be on them for at least 2 years.  As I mentioned in my first message I do take a sleeping pill but it is not prescribed and I purchase then over the Pharmacy counter.  They are not habit forming to me.  Originally prescribed Sertraline for a really bad Depression, and my wife noticed a terrific improvement in me shortly after I was upped to 150mg.  Like anything new you have to give it time and whilst not habit forming it is dangerous to stop taking them and eventually your dose will be reduced again and again after a period of time.  They changed my life and I just accept the side effects which in my case are improving.  I wish you both luck - just stick with it and you start to feel the benefits. Regards Mike B.
