hi guys im here again
on paroxetine for 20 years now on sertraline 2 wks at 50 and 8 weeks at 100
im constantly checking sites for updatesand every day wondering if im ever going to get back to the old me
the introsive thoughts have gone and the anxiety has lowered a little, but still there every day today it was there quite a lot and i felt shaky
i just want to go to bed sleep and wake up without the pounding head and the edgy feeling
over these weeks i have really doubted this tablet and thought do i go up do i go down the dose
then the anxiety starts again because i know whatever i do the anxiety will come back
grinding my teeth and wanting to eat
im keeping myself busy with crafts and ive returned to work
but i just want it to go away, feel so weepy today, wish id never come of the paroxetine

you still have plenty of time to get better x 8 weeks doesn't sound it but it still early days x the fact you have had the improvement you have really is a good sign x if it's not too difficult try and make it to atleast week 12
sertraline is a slower working SSRI compared to others so it will just take that little bit longer x
join the sertraline support group on facebook because ablot of people seem to be in the same position as you and get some really good advise x

Hey Sandra. I agree with potatoghost, 8 weeks is still early. I've been on 100 mg for about 5 months, and honestly, I feel really great. But when I was at 8 weeks on 100, I was still having many down days. It just takes time. Hang in there. My advice to you would be dont go up or down. Give it another 4-6 weeks on 100, and if you still feel the same, then I would adjust your dose. Before coming on 100, I stayed on 50 for about 3 months. when I was still feeling low after that time, I knew I needed to go up. Just hang in there. It just really takes time. But hang in. You're gonna be fine. 😉

hi sandra944
Why did you stop Proxadine if you were well for 20 years on it.
what is Proxdine is it SSRI.
Sert took me months to get past side effects you mention. I found
Sert good for Depression but did not cure anxiety for me, made it bit less.
Keep at it
Good Luck

Allow more time for the new dose to work, try not to be to critical of the dose you are taking, it seems they are upping the new medication to a working level that will eventually help you get used to the new dose.
Sometimes they start patients on a reduced dose for a period of time and then increase the dose to a working level. All I can suggest is you be patient and try not to change medications to often, you need an extended period for the body to settle and many of the initial side affects will go given time.
At the moment I am going through a second period of medication reductions and withdrawal and we need to be patient as the level of medications becomes less and less, the same applies as medication doses rise under your Health Professionals instruction as they watch over you. Try and gain confidence and your expectations will rise as you get better, many illnesses take time to cure. You will eventually move on
