Sertraline 100 and Swollen Eyes

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and have a couple of questions which i hope you can help me with. i was on 50mg of sertraline for 6 weeks but was still experiencing some anxiety and depression. Although i must say that i was having much better days than without it. I have now been on 100mg for two weeks but i am still having some difficulty sleeping. I have also noticed that i am waking up with swollen eyes which eventually go down through the day, Can anyone tell me if this is common or is it unique to myself. Any replies would be helpful... cheers x

Hey polly i take my tablets at tea time on a full stomach as i had nausea throughout the day if i took them in the morning but now it sometimes takes me a while to get to sleep and i wake up in the night over thinking things. This is my third week and only fifth day of taking the tabs in the evening. I think you are right in respect of everyone has unique symptoms to themself personally but its just a case of bearing with it. X

Hiya, I take mine in the morning or late morning depending on if I've been awake on and off all night. Lol. I have read that sometimes people do take it later as it can make you feel sleepy. I can relate to over thinking things when trying to sleep. It's sometimes difficult to relax when your mind is over active. I hope things improve for you Gina and thanks for the reply 😊xx

Hi, I didn't realise that they could combine the two medications. This is very helpful Julie, I will discuss it with my GP as a possibility because Mirtz is supposed to help you relax at night I think and I could do with something lol 😊 xx

Hey thank you Julie. Will make that appointment to discuss it. Sounds like it might help me relax at night. Will let you know what GP says... Could take a while tho as often a two week wait to see them 😁 xx
