hi all
i've been on sertraline 100 mgs for six months give or take, and all has been well.
I have definitly noticed i am more gassy and also very bloated. This isnt something which i want to see the doctor about, but i would be interested to see if other people have experienced this also?
thanks

Lol! Absolutely omg each time I increase dose now I kinda expect it... I get about 4-7days of intense bloat and gas. It's awful but totally from the meds. It does calm down and normally doesn't last that long.

Thanks for your reply 😃
I've only really properly noticed it the last few months, especially at night time when i am brushing my teeth and look at my bloated tummy.
It is not weight gain - literally a massive bloated tummy.
thank you for reassuring me about this

hi , sorry if i am not replying to answer your question . i need reassurance from u as i am on 100 for the second time . i took it for 2 yrs and stopped 2 months as i felt great and myself 100% , now i am 6 weeks in 100 and 2 months in total on sertraline , i still feel edgy and short temper and nervious .
when did you feel normal again ? i feel so tight chest and not functioning properly .
like scared feeling and intrusive thoughts about what i feel and when will i be good again .
plz any advice or reassurance ?

do not worry Dodo - I am on sertraline for panic and high anxiety. I can remember about six weeks in of being on 100 mg is when i started to feel relaxed and panic free, so i think you should start to feel better anytime soon. It was definitly a couple of months after first starting my 100 mg dose that things started to get better for me.
I couldnt even get in the car or do the things i wanted to do, the sertraline has changed my life.
i really hope things get better for you

Glad you have been well on Sertraline 100. Dont worry about a bit of wind to be mentally well is all that matters.
Try an over the counter remedy for wind bloating.

Do you get it at any particular time of the day? I find that a couple of hours after lunch is the worst. I just hope my gas/bloating is simply a side-effect, as this would mean it'll subside at some point.

you and me both. i have had the same thought actually. My tummy is more or less normal when i wake up. then a few hours later i notice it has bloated a lot.
i am sure your bloating is a similar thing
