Sertraline 100mg

I just wanted to take the time to write this for anyone who may be struggling and looking for some hope. I pray this blesses someone today.
i have been on antidepressants since i was 25. I'm now 28. I have always had anxiety & bouts of situational depression in my life and then PPD after i became a mom. i started sertraline about 2.5 months ago. i started at 50, 75, & now 100 mg. I have had heightened anxiety the last few days since starting the 100 but overall I am feeling a bit better. i see a silver lining. for me, i notice i get down before i go back up on SSRIS. So just hang in there because it will get better.. Be kind to yourself. try to remind yourself that you are human and we all fall short sometimes. dont just sit at home or isolate. try to preoccupy your mind if you can. smile at someone, read a book, take a bubble bath, go to the park, exercise... anything to shift your mind from focusing on the pain...i know when depression strikes its so hard to focus on anything else, its debilitating, it steals our joy. Try to remember this is just a season and it will get better. I truly believe this for you and ask in Jesus name that u see how hopeful your future is. lean on HIM. He always comes through. Be strong friends.

thank you Nicole I have PPD and PPA and I'm on my 8 week on sertraline, I will soon start 75mg, I had a panic attack out of nowhere Monday night and got depressed because I hadn't had one in a while, but hopefully will get better soon, it's hard on me because my baby wakes up 2-3 times at night and when I don't sleep I get a lot more anxious, but I know I have to be patient.

Thank you Nicole for all the encouragement. I've been on them now for 8 months, started on 50 for 4 months then to 100 .It can be hard sometimes when you have bad days but knowing that it will improve helps. I agree to lean on Jesus, I've not done that too much but will begin to accept his love and caring. Again thank you.

thank you for sharing your story with us, i have been on Sert since mid-April, 50mg, now up to 75mg (approx 12wks) .
I am generally much brighter, my depression has lifted almost completely, but i still have this lingering 'morning anxiety' - i wake up feeling nervous/jittery, and anxious for no reason, This tends to fade by lunchtime, or early afternoon, but i am disappointed that i still have it. I am worried about going up any higher on the Sert as i am tending to bruise more easily; my GP is aware of the bruising issue, and says they may check my clotting screen if it becomes more of a problem. I do think i would benefit from an extra 25mg to take me up to 100mg, but feel wary of going up due to the bruising ....
Great to hear you are doing really well 😃 x

Yeah, i understand that! I didnt know this about the bruising but my doctor said that it was okay for me to increase to 100, right now from 75 mg i feel much more out of it, but i know it will dissipate! I hope and pray you feel better too! It's not always an easy transition but you got this!

thank you 😃
may i ask if you also have an increased tendancy to bruise on Sert, and if so, it got worse the higher the dose ??
thanks - hoping for you x

When you increased to 100, were you very out of it at first?
You will be yourself again! just takes some time to adjust 😃

I increased to 100 after 2 weeks of taking 50 mg at the first , stayed on 100 for a good 3 yrs .
its awful when you panic and have the instuctive thoughts of the situation that leads to more panic .

I wanted to update: I felt very loopy and out of it all day...It was really starting to get to me, especially at the grocery store... so I started to panic. I will say I felt very numb all day long. Which really makes me upset, but i know in a few weeks this will dissipate. I wanted to let everyone know that it happens sometimes as we get adjusted to the medication. I ended up taking 1/2 of a small dose of klonopin to help calm me down. They actually recommend a benzo during the increasing process to help alleviate the symptoms as you get adjusted. I hope this helps.

hi everyone,
it's been about 3 weeks on 100 mg sertraline. im still adjusting to this medicine. i wanted to say that its helped wonders. ive been able to start a new stressful fulltime job and handle being a mom at the same time. i still have negative thoughts and get down, but not nearly as bad. i do feel apathetic too. not so emotionally fueled.
i hope everyone is doing okay.
happy thanksgiving !!!
