SERTRALINE 100MG AFTER 3 WEEKS?

Posted , 5 users are following.

In November the dr advised I change my meds from VENLOFAXINE to SETRALINE.I have been taking the 50mg for 10 weeks and I know they are not helping my state of mind-2 weeks ago my Gp uped the dose to 100mgand I dont feel any different.

Has anyone else had this happen- I have been told they can take a while to "get in the system".. but I am waiting to feel better...but it aint happening!

Hi Gill, taking an upgrade is actually like starting afresh. It will certainly feel like it as your system has already acclimatized to the original perscription. From experience I know that with each dosage hike you have to be prepared to wait the time for it to take effect - just like you did at the beginning. It will make you impatient as nothing radiclally positive seems to be happening, but please, have faith. Give it at least another two weeks. Good luck.

Hi, yes it happened the same thing with me I only started feeling better at 150mg and 200mg. Also I take them in the morning my Gp tod me they worked better. If you can't feel any did ask your Gp to increase the dosage. Best of luck ilda xxx

After being on 225mg of Venlofaxine previously I guess there is a great chance I will need a higher dose- maybe I am being a little Impatient xx

    Hi Gill

im ding the same 6 days off the ven and 4 on the sertraline,

the withdrawl of the ven is horrendous how did you manage x

I had got down to 75my of ven and started taking the 50 my of sert at the same time.Eventually I reduced the ven to 37.5mg..doing it over ten day's.then I altered the days I took both..until I finally felt able to just take the 50MG sertraline..it took me approx ten weeks.

I didn't feel any withdrawal symptoms. But I have had lots of other changes to deal with..like lack of interest,no motivation.feeling down not going out the house....I have had two collisions in my car since January ..after 25 years driving....I hope you make the switch successfully...I will keep plodding on x
