Hello yes I lost weight after taking Setraline for only a few weeks.  My appetite was affected and the tablets weren't working for me so I have stopped taking them.  They made me feel worse!

I lost wieght in the beginning, but gained 30 lbs. during the year I was on them! I never felt well on them so tapered down slowly. I've now been off seven months and still have withdrawl symptoms.

I'm not taking anything Julie. I was originally on them for Seasonal effective disoprder and anxiety caused by my home environment!I've learned to cope through therapy, without meds.

We're all different, but after trying three different A.D.'s and feeling worse on all of them i gave up ! But for the occassional w.d symptoms still, I feel more like my old self than I have in two years!

    Hi Julie,

yes i I have lost weight and still continue to do so. I've been on sertraline 50mg since February 2014 and till date I've lost almost 5kg, I am usually a big eater but I can easily get away with one meal a day so now I have to remind myself to eat. I'm reducing my meds to one every other day now as I want to stop so we will see. Hope this helps :-)

Yes I AM NOT COMPLAINING lol I hope to maintain it with exercise... So I saw the Doc yesterday and he said I should take one tablet every other day for one month and if I feel ok after that I should stop completely so I shall see how it goes. :-)

Hi Julie so as promised I will share my experience of coming off sertraline...

I started taking a pill every other day and to the best of my knowledge I didn't experience any of the physical side effects I've read about, I will say my appetite is still less but much better than before, like I am starving more often than previously. I officially stopped taking the pills over a week ago and I can say I'm still going strong, I currently exercise regularly and I am in counselling and hopeful for the future! Hope this helps, all the best. X
