Reduced from 50mg a day to 25mg but side effects haven't gone. Any ideas?

I'm not surprised you need to reduce by 10% of each dose for a month then another 10% and so on. This is to avoid and minimise harm to your nervous system reducing by 50% of your dose is way too sudden and what your getting now are probably withdrawal symptoms. These drugs are harder to get off than go on but the symptoms are much the same both ways.

go onto the pages on this site called 'sertraline withdrawal does it ever stop,

You will find lots of help and good sound advice there

    good luck

    HI,

What are the side effects?  For how long did you take 50mg?  Yes, in order to not get any additional side effects you suppose to reduce 10% weekly. bi-weekly or even monthly. But your body is the best judge to know at what speed you are going down.  Sure, your question is about the side effects you already had before lowering the dose, right?

I just rode the symptoms out and am now off them, after reducing from 100mg over 4 weeks. Best move for me I could stick them no longer. Still having problems bowel etc but my appitite is back and my weight loss has stopped. Mood in general better, but for me I am amazed that a drug ment to make you feel better is so awful to take. Never again for me
