I just came back from the doctor and was prescribed sertraline 25mg at night and citalopram 20mg in the morning,

Now, has anybody else taken this or any other two meds at the same time? I think that is too much med for me but i wouldnt know until i start taking them.

Any advice on what to look for i.e symptoms or allergic reactions?

Thanks xxxx

Gosh, can I ask are you switching from one to the other (cross-tapering) or is that permanent? I've switched from Citalopram 20mg to Sertraline 50mg,dropped to 10mg Cita for 2 weeks (felt awful),then straight over to 25mg Sertraline for 1 week then 50mg Sertraline, now day 30 on Sertraline and it's been a rough ride, dizziness, nausea, intrusive (suicidal) thoughts, just felt horrible really. Not sure why you would need to be on 2 different SSRIs,does anyone else know? Good luck.x x

Hey Emily, thanks for replying !

No it wasnt tapper, Dr wanted me to take both but i decided to only take Sert 25mg at night, at first i had nightmares/insomnia/over-thinking

Its just so crazy good thing i prepare myself Chamomile Teas and listen to Youtube relaxing music and do breathings exercises.

I've heard it takes from 6-8 weeks for the AD to kick in so stay strong try to keep your mind occupied, dont let those thoughts take control over you as they're just thoughts and nothing but that. Try doing some yoga or read a book that'll also help, you can also talk to your Dr and see if Sert is the right AD for you !

Stay strong Be positive dont let fear take over you ! You can do this !

Im here for you so is everyone in this forum dont feel lonely people care about you

Aw, thanks for lovely reply, I've got a Yoga DVD and keep meaning do it, we've just got an 8 week old Cockapoo puppy so he's keeping me busy (I have 3 daughters too) so lots to live for and I know I'm very lucky. Just finding things hard at the moment.I'm off work at the moment so that's taken the pressure off, hoping to see some light at the end of a very dark tunnel in 2 weeks time! Sounds like you know what you're doing and have good coping strategies which is amazing. We'll get there. Lots of love and calming thoughts, Emily x
