Sertraline 4 months on?

I've been on sertraline for 4 months now(50)mg for HA. I've endured and got through lots of diff side effects over the past few months.

im just wondering does this medication have continual side effects? Recently I've been having headaches, bad vivid dreams and lots of boil type spots. I also get this funny taste in my mouth which is kind of like metallic/blood taste.

can anyone give me there experience this far in.

on a better note I really do think they have helped I'm no where near as obsessed with every littLe twinge I get.

thanks in advance x

i am back on sertraline and on 4th day and i remember getting spots and i think it was from the night sweats.

    i have done 2 days at 25 and day 2 on 50

and wondering if that was too fast as i feel

terrible and should i scale back to 25 again....did u start straight at 50?

Hi Natalie, I think lots of people up the dose too early. I guess it's because the person feel so bad and want the positive result as soon as possible. I am still on 25 mg ( 5 month ) and if I would go up I would do 37.5 mg first and then 50 mg. When the doctor told me to take 50 mg straight away I said no way.

Everyone is different but definitely worth to try up the dose slowly. Btw I take it for anxiety.

Hi Natalie, no I started on 25mg but I only did 4 days of this then went straight to 50mg.. I'm glad I didn't wait to long to go to 50 because I wanted to get any side effects over and done with asap. Like people always say though everyone is different and you have to do what you feel is right for you x

I've been on strealine for 2 weeks and I only had a few sides effects that lasted a 3/4 days. I take it for

Bad anxiety. I started on 50mg so everyone's different. Tonight I'm starting on 100mg coz I'm still getting a little bit of anxiety. I've noticed I'm sweating more too. Some side effects go and some continue.

It can cause more anxiety at the start I took propanolo for that. No appetite, dizzy, gas, nausea, headache, increased sweating. Just started on 100mg last night and I couldn't sleep. Hope that passes.

Hi I started about 5 months ago I started at 50 then 100 then just recently upped to 125 my symptoms were horrible first 2 weeks, all of the above mentioned and very weird dreams, these subsided and only returned mildly every time I upped my dose. The constant side affects I have now areclenching my jaw and I get very sleepy in the evenings which doesn't bother me and the jaw. Clenching isn't too bad. All in all my experience on this drug has been great it's really helped me I'm so pleased I started taking it I'm so much happier, stress and anxiety free and living my life x

Hi Natalie, I took my pills at 5 pm so I could ride the side affects at home because I couldn't of taken them in the morning and gone to work as I felt out of it, I can remember feeling really sick in the day at work and anxious and I was very concious of having of chemicals in my body. This did only last around 2-3 weeks and it got much better towards the end. I had. Pattern of feeling good then the anxiety would creep back in this is why I upped my dose 50 wasn't enough, 100 was great for a while then I upped to 125 4 weeks ago first few weeks were ropey with side affects but I feel great now. If your dose and the pills are right for you you should be feeling better after approx 4-6 weeks after starting them, if you are struggling after 4 months with side affects and it's not dose related I'd go back to your doctor and discuss. I didn't have health anxiety mine was endless lists of things to do thinking I was. Wing judged

Didn't finish ..... thinking I was being judges constantly feeling like no one liked me or was talking behind my back, worrying about everything and I used to have a big problem with sleep anxiety, I'd lie awake at least 2 nights per week worrying about not sleeping and work myself up, I also had a constant loop of bad thoughts and anxieties I felt like I didn't have any peace what so ever ! Sounds crazy when I write this now but I actually got to the point where I wa scared I was cracking up which prompted me to go to the doctors. So is yours health anxiety ? Xx

Give the tablets time to work Hun and ride out the side affects, as you say your anxiety has been bad so at least you recognise this and can try and rationalise your thoughts take care and I hope things get better for you soon x
