Sertraline

I wonder if any women out there can help. I am on Sertraline for two weeks and have had few side effect which is great. However, I am having trouble reaching orgasm during sex which has never been a problem before. Has anyone else experienced anything like this or are the two things unconnected?

Hi Wendy, I can't speak for myself as I have not had sex since starting sertraline but I have not had any sexual interest and I know that difficulty reaching orgasm is a common side effect with this medication.

What's an orgasm again??? I'd say it's the AD. I've been in Sertraline for a while and came off last year it just made me feel like u had no emotion I was not interested in sex never mind having orgasm!!

Unfortunately my anxiety returned earlier this year so I'm back on it.

    Good luck to you x

Yes there connected don't worry the interest doesn't go away in everybody trust me !

reaching orgasm is a lot harder and also feeling warmer all the time hence sweating your arse off during sex too !

Thank you, a lot harder is better than it will never happen! Do you know if it gets easier the longer your on them or is it something that will just be a side effect all the time?

And I hope the interest stays. Not sure about feeling warmer all the time.

From reading I have done on sertraline, unfortunately, side effects relating to sexual issues seem to be the only ones that apparently do last for the duration of the time you are taking them. The headaches, nausea etc are supposed to wear off after the first few weeks. Everyone is different though and it isn't to say it will effect us all the same.
