A few months ago I suffered a panic attack totally fine one min then thought I was having a heart attack the next. Following a night in hospital I felt I couldnt take a proper intake of air it got worse and I had to see my GP he prescribed sertraline 5omg for anxiety and told me to persevere and go back in a month. Day one felt no different. Day 2 headache felt dizzy and light headed by day 3 depression set in days 4,5,6 couldn't get out of bed felt so hot, sick, crying still couldn't breath and by day 7 I had been awake for 3days and nights I lost 8lb in weight. I was becoming increasingly concerned no way could I have carried in, I stopped taking them waited until out of my system and I started on St. John wart a herbal tablet 425mg one daily, 3hrs after taking it I was up and out going to the shop i couldn't believe a herbal tablet could have this effect.... To anyone in sertraline please try St. John's wart

When I was started on sertraline 50mg I never dreamed it could make me so Ill my family were so worried I physically couldn't cope I spent days trying to find hope in something and researched St. John's wart the only downfall is they advise against excessive sun exposure, I never expected a herbal tablet could have such an effect and the fact it's not a chemical and it's not addictive it's definitely worth a try just make sure the sertraline is out of your system they have a half life of sox 18hrs good luck

You may find the anxiety is actually a side effect of sertraline it increased it and causes depression and shortness of breath, it's beyond me why they put you medication with side effects the same reason you in them. Il never poison my body with such tablets again
Hope it works for you too

I would try and not take them I only took them for one week but I knew my own body the side effects are horrendous iv read in discussion sites and iv not seen any positive feedback, not to mention they are very addictive, if definitely try herbal remedies, if herbal doesn't work try something else

Hi Deborah it's been over a year now just came across our chat back then and I'm wondering how you got on with the sertraline? Did you manage to come off them? Hope you're well
