sertraline 50 mgs

I have struggled with chronic fatigue and depression for many years following a brain haemorrhage. I've always been adverse to taking any anti-depressants but on my last gp visit, I asked to give them a go. My symptoms seemed to mirror the effects of depression and I wanted to see if a serotonin uptake pill would indeed help the symptoms.
I can report that bar feeling so drugged and incapable in those first couple of weeks, I'm beginning to reap the benefits. This morning I've really noticed a difference in my mood, energy and feelings of HOPE!. My first week I felt totally zapped, exhausted and suffered many intrusive negative thoughts. I know its early days but I think there are signs I am climbing up out of my pit. I didn't even realise this is how depression felt, all the time blaming the side effects on a brain injury.
To anyone reading this forum, unsure or worried about taking this med, please don't take too much notice of the negative reviews. I was told by my gp not to research online - good job as I would have run a mile reading so many negative reviews. I know how I feel and thank goodness, I'm beginning to feel a whole lot more hopeful and brighter, and I expect to improve more in the days ahead. Thank goodness I bit the bullet and trusted my gp's advice!

Hi Jane, so glad your feeling better, I'm hoping to start to feel a bit better in a few weeks, started Venlafaxine last week on low dose but due to go up on Friday, I'm so desperate to feel I'm on the mend again. Neil

just an update on my progress with sertraline. It has been 31 days and I'm feeling so much happier and more hopeful. I never thought sertraline could perform such a miracle, its almost magical!! Sorry if this is ott, but I'm really impressed with the results.
