Hi all, I really need advise, I've recently been taking 50mg of sertraline , I found for the first few weeks it had been working up until the last 4 days where I have been non stop on the toilet where I have had explosive diarrhea. Every time I eat or drink i'm none stop sitting on the toilet it has woken me up a few times in the night. Has anyone else experienced this with sertraline if so; what's your advice? Im really starting to worry now.
Many thanks, Rachel. *

i was on Sertraline for 16 years and sometimes had this. Its just a side effect of the Sertraline working which is good news. It will go away as your body gets used to the medication. It sometimes takes a few months for things to settle down. Hang in there and think positive...

Sertraline saved my life. I was symptom free and a very happy dad and husband. Unfortunately they pooped out recently and struggling again but thinking positive is a must. You owe it to yourself and loved ones to keep going. They say all the best people are crazy anyway 😉

Thats what these forums are for i believe. People want to hear positive stories that inspire them and spur them on to get well again. My love for my wife and 2 kids drove me through it. Despite being very depressed, anxt ridden and feeling very alone, in reality i had loving support. I really feel for people who are truly alone and battling what is a very horrible illness. One of the key things that drives the negative thinking is that you feel like a fraud as you might not have cancer, lost a loved one etc etc and its all your fault as you have a weak mind and personality. You have to resist this and believe you will be strong and healthy again

it may not have anything to do with the medication- you might have just picked up a bug.
