Sertraline 50mg Side Effects

Posted , 4 users are following.

only taken 5 days of above & I feel absolutely dreadful. Nausea ++ dizzy, cant sleep more than 2 hours, bowel upset, cant face food, completely lost appetite. Heart fluttery, sometimes pounding, feel nervous., shaky from head to toe.

taken 3 days off work already, which is not good.

I'm so upset, I don't think i can continue them.

I started them for anxiety, not particularly depressed but now, already I feel so much worse.

I cant take much more time off, I'm so confused as to what to do.

Will I get withdrawal effects if I stop now?

hello Dee. i also took sertraline for anxiety and i had this reaction when i first started. i ended up taking 25 mg for a couple of weeks before upping. you could always ask for your doc to ring you and tell them about your pounding heart etc. i asked for 2mg diazepam to get thru this initial stage. it helps on days when you just need to feel more normal.

I dont want to give up but i need to be able to function next week, Christmas.

I will have to try again after that I think.

Did you get them in 25mg or just break in half?

i just broke them in half Dee. i found it much easier to up in 25s...50 straight off was hellish. maybe ask for diazepam over xmas? 2mg helped me feel calm and normal, didnt feel spaced out or anything weird.

DEE please give this medication a chance to work, the first 1/2 weeks you will feel HORRIFIC as i did, its your body adjusting to the medication, i believe the side effects will get better for you, ive been to see some top professionals ( not the nhs) and they say these are one of the best anti depressants available, i explained they sent be spiralling downhill the first two weeks and they say its normal its our bodies adjusting, now its into my system i feel SO MUCH BETTER in every way - I WOULD SERIOUSLY STICK WITH THEM - things will get better, keep telling yourself this way of thinking isnt you ots your body adjusting to the drugs, i felt exactly the same as you but the best thing i ever did was ride it out now i feel 10000000 times better

GOOD LUCK DEE dont give up ❤

rather than stopping drop to 25, ease yourself in gently. after xmas up to 50. ask for 2mg diazepam for when you need to feel good ie. over xmas/new year.
