Hi All,
I am started to worry as I didn't have a single full good day since I have started to take Sertraline. Some side effects are better now, but I still very anxious, and feel so sick and depressed.
Does it mean this medication wont work for me? Is there a sign we can decide or its just too early?
Is there anybody who felt this way on week 5 and got better later on? I dont have motivation for anything, don't even leave the house, I feel sick and down. Just seeking for some hope 😦
Thank you
Kind Regards,
B.

Hello Macdee!
Now I am on my 7th week like you when you posted your reply above. I am really keen to know if you feel any better by now please just because I am still depressed and have no motivation for doing anything. And I feel weird and sick especially when I have to leave the house, started to loose hope now 😦
Are you still on the same dose please? How are you getting on? Thanks very much!
Kind Regards,
B.

Every time you up your dose you need 8 weeks to have your mind to adjust to it. Im on 37.5 mg going to 50 mg soon. Just feeling a little down last couple days. Must be the holidays. Those crazy thoughts of hopelessness just come in and sit. We all have to remember their just thoughts that make us down. Little stories the mind makes up that are total fiction. Remind yourself that it's not true and you are happy! Life is do precious please dont waste it.

thank you very much for asking. I’m down to 25 mg since the beginning of the month. I feel sick and nauseated and a little anxious every now and then. Sometimes i have a hard even sleeping or getting to sleep. Going in next week to start my first treatment of TMS. It stands for trans magnetic stimulation and I pray it’s the answer to my depression and anxiety. 36 treatments 30 minutes of treatment every day for six weeks. The only reason I’m doing this is to get out of this depression. I just feel so empty inside and just like nothings going to get better. I know it’s just my mind talking making up stories are true. But with the thoughts, comes feelings of just such an emptiness. this has no side effects and the track record’s been pretty good so I’m gonna give it a shot and see what happens wish me luck. I hope all is well with you. Have a blessed and safe Christmas and new year. 2020 will be the year that will change all of us for the good.

I’m 3 weeks and 3 days in. 11 days on 50mg, 12 days on 75mg and then started 100mg today. Felt good when i first started the medication but struggling now. Before starting Sertraline I tapered off Mirtazapine which also has some side effects too.
Good luck to everyone taking this med. lets hope we are all better soon

Hi
I am on week 6 of 50mg. Never taken this before. The first 3 weeks were awful. I couldn't eat, felt sick. I have a constant ringing in my ears too. The sick feeling has now gone but ringing is still there. I feel less anxious but for some reason the last few days i've felt rubbish. It's not helped me to sleep either, which i hoped it would.
I was prescribed them for a health anxiety and panic attacks. I've had a prolonged period of illness, a globus sensation in my throat. It's caused me to have panic attacks and fears I'm seriously ill. I'm still unsure if it's anxiety or acid reflux that is causing the problem though! I've had an mri scan and a nasal scope, nothing conclusive as yet.
I was hoping the Sertraline would relax my tense neck/throat. I'm hanging in there!
Good luck to everyone! I am so glad I found this forum! I'm always happy to chat/support anyone!

Sertraline will help you sleep and calm you if it works for you but only if you level which can take 12+ weeks. i am on week 9 and still feeling rubbish 😦

Are you feeling any better? I'm 7 weeks did go down to 37 for a week, but since going back up to 50mg 2 weeks ago feel worse than when I started. I know they say shouldn't alter doses but 50mg just makes me feel too awful!!!

No I am still feeling like crap 😦
Yes all dosage change resets the clock, so If you went up 50 2 weeks ago and feel bad thats normal, most of us experienced that the 2nd and 3rd week was the most difficult. It could take 12+ week until you level on the same dose. If you keep changing the dose you wont level never. I know somebody who has been struggling for 14 months for the exact same reason, he is on the same dose now for the last 8-9 weeks and started to feel better.
