Hi Trina. Sorry to hear you've been feeling so bad. I started taking sertraline 5 weeks ago and my anxiety got worse than ever.

I'm not sure I can help, but you are not alone. Our illness can create some mean thoughts - making us feel worse about ourselves. It will pass and we will get better.

Did you have these problems with previous increase of dose? Do see your doctor again if the feelings don't improve.

Trina, I am sorry you are feeling like this. I just want to assure you that I went through this numbness before I started feeling again, but please remind yourself that just the mere fact that you don't feel like you love anybody is an indication that your feelings are trying to break thru this numbness. I went thru a period for 1-2 weeks when I felt fortified by the med and I couldn't shed tears even though I was crying inside. So hang in there, this will pass. I also experienced derealization which to me was more disorienting than the numbness. Give it a few more weeks and this numbness will disappear. Take care. You are not alone in feeling this.

Thank you for your reply i have been back to the doctors and hes increased my dose to 200mg this is my 3rd day and im getting pains in my legs and sometimes i feel out of breathe. I am so scared of this increase not working i want to cry all the time and i feel weak that i cant get my mood to lift i try telling myself that i will get better but there doesnt seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. My husband has been really good and tries to understand but it is frustrating for him seeing me like this. He has his own health problems to deal with he has cardio myopathy. We have just booked a weekend away in march so hopefully a cha.ge of scenery will help. Do you think i should be feeling better now after 5 weeks or is it too soon yet. Will this misery ever end im so sick of it.x

Trina, when you start on a new dose you have to give it a bit more time. Give it 2-3 more weeks to see the glimmer of light at end of tunnel. Pain in legs is normal, and so is breathlessness. Even at 2 months, do not expect depression to go. This med helps with anxiety/OCD first, and then depression is last to go. Hang in there, be strong but also gentle with yourself. Xx

Hello, I was on Zoloft 50mg for about a month.

Went to doc's (GP) and was having slight anxiety still, so the doc upped to 100mg.

Was fine, just kinda tired, for about a week and a half. Then, out of no where, headache, ringing in the ears, upset stomach, and all around feel like blah.

The drug has been in my system now for over a month at 50mg, but since the increase to 100mg

Getting some bad side effects again.

So I'm on week 2 and a couple days of 100mg and not going well. Want to keep taking the 100mg, but should an uppage in dose shock my brain that much??

Will the side effects level out??

Anyone have this going on right now? Don't get me wrong, the drug does help, I've had some really, really great days. If your reading this, seriously, I had some good days. Maybe this is all part of the uppage in dose? Maybe another 2-3 more weeks and then if the same, cut back to 75mg??

    Not sure?

Hi just to say that what your going through seems to be the norm we have more ups and downs than a roller coaster. I have just upped to 200mg and feel like a zombie but if the outcome is peace from D&A then it will be worth it.Hope things get better for you soon and this site is brilliant for advice and knowing your not alone with this devastating illness.

Thanks Trina. Hope your getting along ok too, seen in other posts you said leg pain.

I to get the leg pain a little, and neck and shoulders. It's weird, but a side effect from what I've seen people write on this site.

Take care, and have a good day.

Hi todd all the symptoms your having i have had them too and every day seems to bring a different one. They do seem to tail off but every time my dose has been increased the side effects come back but not as bad and a little bit more bearable. Hopefully once your on the right dose they will disappear .

These symptoms are horrible. I went threw the 50mg symptoms hoping I'd never has those again. Only reason my dose got upped was,I told my GP after 29 days, I had felt a little anxiety. Makes me wonder if I shouldn't have upped it to 100mg.

Question is, how do you know if it's to much mg. ??

How long do I wait to see?
