You maybe ok now if you havnt had any side effects already. If it doesnt seem like its not working dont panic normally takes 4 odd weeks for full benifit. Well done on starting though

    hi louise,

sertraline usually takes 6-8 weeks for you to feel the full effects of it to be honest, what are you taking it for?? :-)

That's fantastic news really happy for you as I have been on 50mg of sertraline for one month and had no improvement what so ever so got my dose upped 2 days ago to 100mg and no improvement yet just going to hang in there that's brilliant that you have found a quick fix as that's very unusual with these problems good luck and hopefully the positives keep up

Hi louise  its great you're feeling so positive   as many people  have real benefits from being on sert. Unfortunately those people who sail thru it dont seem to post so much. I have been on sert 6 months and am in a good place  I still get down days but hey doesnt everyone?  My advise to you is to take one day at a time relish the good days  and do not dwell on the the bad days I wish you continued health and happiness   this is a great site for support or just to let off steam so good luck with your journey

      Thanks Kathy

I am starting to see a light at the end of a very very long dark deep tunnel I know it will take awhile but even the way I'm feeling now is great compared to how I was 2 weeks ago x

Hi, i am 13 days in on 25mg and not really feeling that different except a little anxious at times...had 2 panic attacks, not bad ones but haven't had one for about 20 years so was a bit scary...was thinking about upping the dosage to 50mg but am not really comfortable doing it.

      hi rodga321,

if you're feeling like it's not doing much for you, go back to your doctor and ask them about increasing your dosage, don't do this off your own back, speak with your doctor, i started on 50mg and didn't feel any differfent after a month, i'm now on 150mg and feel much better :-)

So you have really felt the benefits then? did you you have any anxious moments in the beginning?

Well on the box it said take half a tablet for the fist week or two then take one daily...but still i feel a little wary about upping the dosage...i have an appointment with the doc next week anyway...

yes, i feel near as damn it back to my old self, before all the anxiety and depression, you will feel a little jittery and anxious the first few days, but everyone is different, so many people have had alot more side effects than me and others have had none at all so just depends on how the meds affect you personally, sick with it though as i did and i feel so much better these days :-) let me know what the doctor says at your appt next week and take care :-)
