Sertraline

Hi all.
Firstly about me. I have suffered from anxiety with a fear of death for about 10 years after a number of tragic events in my life.
I have taken citalopram for approximately 8 years and have found they stopped working. Was getting anxiety on the bus and in the car and am currently off work on the sick and have problems sleeping. Decided last week to bite the bullet (and yes it terrifies me) and change to setraline. I took my last citalopram yesterday and took my first 25mg sertraline tablet about 2 hours ago. To say I'm apprehensive is an understatement but let's see how it goes. I have decided to post my journey whether good or bad for others to share my experience.
I am going to remain positive however and think I'm going to think that any possible side effects that I could get are not necessarily side effects but symptoms of my anxiety disorder xx

I moved from Citalopram to Sertraline some years ago, and don't recall any particular problems - perhaps being both SSRI's gives a head start & reduces side effects etc, let's hope so. I recently came off sertraline & now trying to get back, & have had a much harder time, which was an unpleasant surprise given I assumed it would be relatively straightforward again.

I'm sorry to hear its not so straightforward for you this time around. The citalopram had stopped working for me so hears hoping the sertraline will help x

Thanks Jackie.
Doc has given me diazepam to help with side effects but gonna try not to take them see how it goes! More than likely wishful thinking that I won't but fingers crossed x
