Sertraline

Hello guys. Abit of Reassurance would be nice. Iv been taking sertraline 50mg for three days as the Doctor says I'm having sever anxiety attacks randomly. But iv been feeling so so so poorly when taking them. Iv been sick, constant neausea. Headache and stomach pains. Unfortunately iv had to stop taking them as they have really messed me up. Should the doctor have prescribed them that strong to begin with? I literally can not take them. I have been in bed for two days now and can feel the tablets starting to wear out my system.. I cannot take them anymore as how bad I feel. Is this common? People say give them a week or so to get into you properly but I cannot physically take them.. Any advice welcome. Thank u all so much.

If your reaction has been that bad then I would not take them. Sertraline does upset the gut for some people and I think you sound like someone who has not had a good reaction to this med. I know some people say continue with it but I would discuss this with your Dr first.

I would ask to take half of even a quarter to start with. I started at 12.5 and am now at 50 and while I had some effects they were not too awful that I couldn’t stay on them:

Really sick and bad headache 😬 I took my first Saturday and missed it yesterday and took another today . I’ve had same reaction with venaflaxine and duloxetine also . Been on mirtazapine for 11 years and no bad side effects so if this don’t work after 6 weeks I’ll go back to that

I was the same. I started on 25 mg because I am not great with medication. Then went to 50 mg then 75 and now I am on 100mg. Took me 5 weeks. The first two weeks I was bedridden I felt so terrible this is my second week on 100mg and I am starting to feel good. Nausous still but anxiety is finally calming down. I know you have to go through the bad to get to the good. I almost gave up but didn’t. Talk to your dr about starting on 25 mg.  Good luck

Hi ship. How did they make u feel at worst?

Terrible. I was anxious and really depressed. Thought it was getting worse then one day it just kind of turned around. I was crying non stop for two weeks then it slowly stopped. I gad tried Effexor before and that was the most terrifying experience I ever had so I was real sceptical about the Zoloft. I am glad I road it out even if I litteraly was in bed for two weeks. Everyone is different I am hopeful this week will get even better

How long before you noticed a difference? Did it give you more energy as I’m exhausted all the time even though I’m sleeping
