you haven't let anyone down. if you had a stomach bug or a broken leg you wouldn't have been able to go do don't beat yourself up about it bud

when you get better I'm sure you will make up for it!

Have you been on the same dose the whole time or did you just change. 20 weeks on the same dose tells me you need to see your doctor. If it has not had any effect by now something needs to change. Most people start feeling much better at 12 or 13 weeks of the same dose. Hope you feel better soon....

e been on citalopram for 4 years and it worked amazingly well. stopped working. tried adding mirtazipine and made me have a proper break down and now on sertraline. you will be surprised how long you can keep trying if it means getting better.

dont give up there is so many options. and just because one doesnt work another will!

how long have you been on the 150mg

hang in there kevin , it really does take a while. in my case i noticed my very low mood improving about 7 weeks, but then i was up and down for a few weeks and it took longer for my anxiety to improve. i have been told by a doctor who specialises in mental

health that it can take up to 6 months for you to feel the maximum benfits of sertraline . so patience is really needed and be kind to yourself, get ample sleep and exercise and relaxation and avoid alcohol 😃

      Kevin,

I am on ten weeks at 75mg. Have been on sertraline for the 4 previous episodes and luckily it worked each time. Every time I worried that it would not work and, so far, at about the 12th to 13th week I had considerable improvement to almost feeling normal. I look for small improvements in other areas, such as feeling better in the evening, better appetite, more ability to think clearly, ect. Usually the depression and anxiety are the last to actually go away. This time I seem to also have stalled and see no new improvements since about week 7. I will continue until week twelve since I don't have to much more to go. At that point I will probably go up to 100mg and see what happens.

I've read your other posts and wish I could reassure you that it will work, but its all a crap-shoot. With all the times I've restarted I may have mucked up my response to this med and it may not work for me this time. But I feel that if the medicine has worked for you in the past and did not stop working for you, and this is only your second time back on it, that it will probably work again. You just need to give it more time. If I've read your other posts correctly, you've only been on 150mg for 3 or 4 weeks. That is too short a time span to see if it will work. Please give it some more time. I would hate for you to have invested all this time on this med and possibly be really close to responding and throwing all that away to start from scratch. I wish you the best....

It's a good sign that you are responding to the medication. Please don't be disappointed if you still have some bad days. Unfortunately it is not a straight trajectory up. Still, the fact that you are getting better will help you deal with it better too. Just knowing that it is going to work helps so much. Good luck and let us know how you do. Take care...
