    hey Sam.

I'm on day 7 and it's pretty rough so I feel ya.

as you stopped the med and started again you need to start again from the last time you took your dose so day 1 if you took it today.

also just be careful starting and stopping because these meds are pretty strong

what you are describing is all start up side effects from the sertraline so dont panick, easier said than done though I know.

dont feel down about needing meds thousands of people are on them and their is no shame in it x

you are going to feel worse before you feel better and that's normal. anxiety/mood/side effects wise.

some people heal quicker than others, first time on a med it took 4 weeks to feel better. second time 12 weeks to feel better so it all depends on the person.

stick to the same dose and dont increase for atleast 4-6 weeks.

has the doc given you anything to help with the side effects?

      Hey Photoghost,

thanks for your reply, i appreciate your feedback.. i feel you too.

if you have been on the meds i guess its great that you know they do work even if it takes a little while. so keep up the great work..

ok so im on 50mg and my doctor said to up it to after 10days to 100mg bit im thinking maybe you are right i will just take 50 for 4 to 5 weeks and see how i go..

Also doctor gave me valium mg as a backup in case but i would prefer not to use if I can..

so i mossed last night today i will take it at regular time.

its really good to know there are other people here to talk to about this, you can feel so alone and isolated in it all..

How many times have you been on this if you dont mind me asking..?

and did younhsut feel normal happy self again..

i dream aboit this honestley lol 😃

if you need your valium when it gets tough dont worry . if you are worried try halfing it first before bed or something just to see how it makes you feel.

itll just relax you when things are tough

if you can, try your best to take the dose the same time every day just so it's in your system a little better.

hopefully some more people will be along soon and give you some advise and support too.

obviously I'm not a doctor so the advise the doc has given you may be correct but everyone on here says to wait longer before increasing because it wont make you better quicker it will just give you side effects for a few days

I've been on citalopram a couple of times but the most recent time it stopped working for me so had to swap to sertraline. I'm on day 7 and I'm not gonna lie it's tough! but you know that already

I'm going through withdrawals too from citalopram so its deffo not easy.

      drink plenty of water

make sure you walk atleast once a day, even if it's only for 20 mins

rest when you need too and dont push yourself, rest is important

you probably dont have an appetite but try your best to eat even if it's just snacks.

and over the next few weeks you should improve and be back to your normal self

also patience is important. you are gonna have to be really patient but recovery will come.

yeah i would appreciate all the feeback i can get lol..

so i have acrually spoke n to my sister and she has taken vallium so i guess i could try half a tablet.

ive been at basketball with my daughter thid morning and being up and about helps as im notnthinking so much. i will def go for a walk later .. and i guess take it day by day and even somtimes moment by moment but were all in this together and helps knowing im not alone..

keeping busy really does help. even if it's a bad day it helps pass the time quicker at the least anyway. valium can make you feel sleepy and a bit dozey but that will pass when you get used to them.

it's good that you are managing to go and do things but remember their is no harm in resting too x

deffo keep you posted on how things we are going for sure

hopefully today is a bit easier for you x

Hi, you meed to take the meds for them to work. try taking the meda as soon as you finish work, so rhey jave worked theough your system more before work the next day. i did this when i first started. it will gradually get easier and you will forget about the bad feeling as the side affects taper off. try again, give yourself a good 4 weeks and you will see a difference xx

ps you arr likely to get side affects when you up your dose so the sooner you tske your full perscribed dose the better. otherwise it will all start again, alternatively take 50 up to 75 then 100 but would do this in 1 week. if you keep mussing doses you are just prolonging the side affects

Hiya - 3 years ive been on sertraline and i can relate to everything youve said. the drug has worked wonders for me. i started on 50 and quickly moved to 100, i was fine for about a year and then upped to 150. i recently had a really down spell and increased to 200 and im fine again. it works trust me! feeling better just happens one day i realised i wasnt constantly thinking or feeling anxious. its subtle the change just creeps up on you. ive had loads of side affects but feeling better far outweighs them. ive had some amazing dreams ! lol really vivid quite entertaining ! embrace the side affects, they wont last, the only sode affect that has stayed with me is i feel like im clenching my jaw when i wake up, other than that I dont have any. i did have sickness feeling dizzy, night sweats, and when i first took the meds i couldnt even sit in a room with my husband because i felt out of it, it all diminished afer the first 2-3 weeks. good luck short term pain long term gain xxx
