Sertraline

Hi I have GAD geneeral anxiety disorder and was on sertraline for 8 years, felt I didn’t need it anymore. So I weaned off of sertraline starting July until December 2021. Big Mistake! The anxiety came hurling back. So I restarted sertraline at 25 mg for 1 week, then 50 for 6 weeks, totaling 6.5 weeks back on sertraline. The past 6 weeks have been absolute hell on earth, increased anxiety, a 6 week long panic state. One of my my questions is, is this normal? Shouldnt it at least have gotten a little better? and another question is how long will it take for the zoloft to start to work again? I have read it takes between 4-8 week to work. Has anyone considered to switching to lexipro?

I have been on 100 mg zoloft since 2014 because of GAD and panicdisorder. Got a huge depression after covid-19, and increased to 200 mg. Soon 5 weeks on 200 now, and feel the same as you. Many people on this forum say that it can take up to 12 weeks to feel the benefits, so just stay on it! Hope it will work for both of us !!!

    hi,

i just started a discussion as I feel the same, nearly 8 weeks on sertraline, 50mg for 6 weeks then upped to 100mg for 2, I had 4/5 good days in week 6 but now crashed again and feeling like this will never end, anxiety and depression are definitely worse before getting better. trying to remain hopeful
