Hi nancyew, do you take it for depression? When did you started ? Needs 4-6 weeks to work but if yuh don't feel anything definitely talk to your doctor. You might need higher dose or different medication.

I haven't started it yet, just investigating, as Zoloft is just not working and you can take Abilify with Zoloft.

I can't really comment to much on this as I don't know much about Aripiprazole (Abilify), but to add on to your other topic about drinking on Sertraline, if you're taking this as well as the Sertraline I would recommend agaist drinking as alcohol can increase the side effects of both of the drugs, and as another user mentioned, cause depression. Rather be safe than sorry.
On the Aripiprazole, I would consult your doctor about the medication just in case there is a stage of getting used to the side effects just like the first weeks of using an antidepressant, as it might explain why you've hit a bit of a road block, and this might be expected with this combination.
Take care, and try to keep fighting the dark days

I shall consult Dr. about Abilify, right now I am doing my own research on it and whether it is compatible with Zoloft.
Here I sit on the 100mg waiting for something to happen but I doubt it will without a little push (Abilify?).
An Yes I am fighting the dark days. Thx

I started taking Sertraline 3 months ago, its the first time I have taken any depression/stress medication, and I would say that only now am I starting to feel better. For the first 2 months nothing seemed to happen, and I felt the same as you, I felt that it would never get better and the meds werent working. But it does, I am so happy I stuck with it. I was really stressed/ suicidal/panicky and felt like I was in a deep hole and there was no way out, when I first started taking them. I think the more depressed you were to start with, the longer it takes to get you back up. Stick with it, what have you got to lose- it can take up to six months

100mg. I've also started to cut sugar out of my diet and up my fat intake, and started taking Magnesium and Zinc vitamins.
