hi all,
I am just wondering something I take my 50mg tablet of sertraline at 1:40pm everyday and I have started to notice I feel the same all day still depressed, anxious, don't want to get out of bed etc... But when I go to bed at night around 1am I notice I have more positive thoughts like life is actually good and I've got motivation to do things the next day but then when I wake up I feel horrible again, can anyone explain this or have experienced this? And I'm wondering if I start to take my tablet at night time will I wake up and have my day positive like I feel in the early hours of the morning as I do now if that makes sense?
Thankyou for any advice and words

Making a rare appearance here because I like to help when I van, but just helping myself is a full-time job. I have taken Sertraline many years, probably almost a decade at least ant varying mg. On 150mg/day for 2-3 years I guess. I take it anytime, but try to take it after work because it and several other meds I take cause drowsiness. I take two other meds at bedtime before turning in, but with at least 5 meds that make me sleepy, I fon't want to take them all at the same time before sleeping. A friend of mine had a husband who she had to force to take all of his meds at once, and it was a real chore because if she had spaced them out, all she would have been d one was fighting with him to take meds. I know one should not take meds that interfere with each other, but even if they don't, I have trouble thinking it is advisable to take.8-10 meds at the same time. And like you with Sertraline, I have never had any anti-depressant cure depression. I think much more is needed for that because there are an awful lot of stressors in this crazy world. Hope it gets better for you.

Try taking it in the morning. I think its basically trial and error. 😊😊

Glad you are feeling a little more positive. .at times anyway.
I had the same problem with mornings but I found when I forced myself to get up I start feeling better in a short amount of time. ..I believe Vikki
on this site said something similar.
So write down your plan for the following day and get up, and read your plan and proceed with it!
You know there is a saying- FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT! Try it and let me know how you do...I have faith in you, Jordy! /Lois

hi jordy,
how long have you been taking sertraline for?? i usually take mine at the same time every day, i believe that doing this the levels of meds are more stable in my system, the doctor hasn't told me that, i just think it's the right thing to do and it works for me, i take mine as soon as i wake up in the morning, some people have said that a before bed dose can cause insomnia and irritability :-)
