sertraline after using marijuana

hi, i had been taking prozac for past 20 years 20mg at night with a 1mg clonazepam. i had a friend at work with whom i smoked pots occasionally. after few months i felt depressed and find out that prozac does not work anymore. does any one has such experience. am i right that marijuana made prozac not work? now i am on serteraline and recently taking 100mg. prozac had no side effect and i was very comfortable but sertraline makes anxiety and recently lost appetite.

thank you all and hope evry body gets better.

Pot has potential interaction with psychotropic drugs, so it is strongly advised not to take it when you are in antidepressants

I hope you gave enough time after getting off of Prozac before starting sertraline. I remember during my first time getting back on sertraline I freaked out that it wouldn't work again - this was more than 15 years ago, so a doc switched me over to Prozac and I took it for one day and had really terrible side effects - think it interacted negatively with sertraline in my system. I immediately went back to Zoloft the next day and stick it out and eventually got better.

    Hang in there. Xx

Same with grapefruit. Try not to take it when you take this med, as it quickens the med and depletes it from your system. I love grapefruit but I gave it up.

It is possible your prozac stopped working because pot speeds up your metabolism. (Munchies!) This means your dosage of prozac wears off faster and its effects are reduced.
