Sertraline and alcohol

So I have been on sertraline for two months at 100mg and last weekend I attended a graduation Ball in my college. I noticed I got drunk a lot quicker than normal but I am known to be a lightweight so I put it to that I could still walk and talk fine. Last thing I remember at 12.30am dancing with friends on the dancefloor. At 6am I was awoken by my friend who found me in another friends bathroom at 6am in the hotel where the ball was held. I had no memory of what happened or where I was until I was told my friend brought me to her room helped me out. I was told they couldn't get me to get up so they let me rest and sleep so atleast between 2am and 6am I was asleep as far as I know. But I was apparently getting sick and not doing well. This scared me and my parents the next day especially since they didn't know where I was as I'm not the type to not update them if I'm not coming home (only child they worry). In the past not matter how much I drink I still always remember the night out and have never experienced a blackout. Even one time a year ago I stupidly drank on an empty stomach and was so bad my friend had to call my mom to come get me which was scary on its own but I actually remember every minute of it. People have been telling me that my blackout and getting drunk very quick could possibly be down to the meds so I would just love to know of anyone else experienced difficulties when drinking as my doctor never warned me I didn't think it would make a difference. Its been a week since the event and I can't get it out of my mind please help.

    Hey Emily!

Sertraline and alcohol do not mix well!.......trust me i learnt the hard way! Ive been on 50mg for 5 weeks now and a last week i had too much to drink and was awful the next day, and pretty much the rest of the week! Heightened anxiety was unbearable. My doctor agreed that excessive drinking on these tablets is not a good idea! Ive also known of friends on sertraline that have blacked out when drinking. A few drinks is ok but in excess NO!.........I wont be drinking for a while i know that. Merry Christmas everyone! xx
