Sertraline and bruising

Dear all,

Recently I noticed that I got too many bruises on my legs (knees, hip). I must have bumped into something, but I am bruising easier while on Sertraline. A couple of bruises are quite large and I am worried. I read that it could be a serious side effect of Sertraline (I wrote to my doctor but so far no answer). Did you experience easy bruising? I hope I would not need to change medication as I am starting to feel better. (Except for today! 😁wink

    Hey!!

I have been on it a week with increased anxiety as a side effect and I have also noticed more bruising on my legs. I have friends on it who say the same thing happened to them and to stick with it as it was life changing after it settled in. I feel extremely anxious all the time so rang dr who said that’s normal the first two weeks!! Hope you feel better soon x

I also bruise very easy now. I was worried also and called my doctor. I went in for blood work but all came back good. My  psychiatrist said that it’s normal.

I know you posted this two months ago. I hope you’re feeling much better now. 😊

I have the same problem, bruises on both legs, caused by just minor knocks. I am also a bit worried as only taking 50mg Sert a day ....

It has worked well for me, and I will be gutted if I have to stop taking it :-(
